Description:Joseph Rhodes Buchanan (1814-1899) was a physician and professor of physiology at the Eclectic Medical Institute in Covington, Kentucky. Buchanan proposed the terms Psychometry and Sarcognomy. His works include: Outlines of Lectures on the Neurological System of Anthropology (1854), Eclectic Practice of Medicine and Surgery (1868), The New Education (1882), Therapeutic Sureognomy (1884) and Manual of Psychometry (1885). Buchanan's Journal of Man was published from 1849 to 1856. In its essential characteristics it is different from all nineteenth century literature, and not in competition with any other publication. It represents an entirely new school of thought, based upon the establishment of the new science of Anthropology, which is a revelation of the anatomical, physiological, and psychic union of soul, brain, and body, and a complete portrait of man and the laws of his life, from which arise many forms of psychological, ethical, physiological, pathological, and therapeutic science, all of which are eminently practical and philanthropic in their results. We have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
