Garantir la survie d'une �conomie fond�e sur la consommation de combustibles fossiles demeure � ce jour une priorit� politique comme le fait de devoir faire face aux catastrophes naturelles � l'�chelle mondiale - ce qui rend les objectifs de durabilit� d'autant plus difficiles � atteindre dans un environnement en pleine mutation o� les rivalit�s politiques exacerb�es fa�onnent la politique globale contemporaine.L'entr�e de la Terre dans une nouvelle �poque g�ologique, l'Anthropoc�ne (l'�re de l'homme), repr�sente un formidable d�fi �thique, qu'il convient de relever en �tablissant une v�ritable politique de durabilit�, et ce, au moment o� l'humanit� s'engage dans la derni�re phase du processus de mondialisation.
