Humanoid Bi-Peds have gained ascendancy over other lifeforms with structured civilisations ruled by monarchies and firmly established peerage systems. The same hostile ambitions are also prevalent as the stranded space travellers discover when they save Raken Trigine from being torn to pieces by hunting dogs. Nursing him back to health they restore him to his capital and his throne only to find it has been claimed in his absence by a usurper, although the claimant flees to raise an army and seek an alliance with a neighbouring kingdom.Grateful for their help Racken Trigine nominates blonde and beautiful Letitia Arran as his Golden Queen and gifts Dukedoms to Damaris Lambert and Duward Carver. Unfortunately Carver’s Dukedom has been taken from the throne claimant and that involves him in serious fighting to take possession and support Raken Trigine. While fighting in another part of the country Trigine’s capital is attacked and he is killed, leaving his pregnant wife to rule in his stead. After winning the war and taking possession of the defeated neighbour Queen Letitia sets herself the task of improving conditions for her combined people while exploring the possibilities of expanding her dominions beyond her current borders.
