An Answer to a Letter Sent from Mr. Coddington of Rode Island, To Governour Leveret of Boston in what concerns R. W. of Providence

Unknown Author
4.9/5 (34605 ratings)
Description:This tract by Roger Williams was originally written and probably published sometime between the publication, in 1676, of Williams's George Fox Digg'd out of his Burrowes . . . . and his death in 1683. It is the continuation of the argument between Williams and the Quakers over theological issues that had begun, most noticeably, in the oral debate between Williams and Quaker representatives that had occurred during several days in August of 1672 in Rhode Island. This edition, long out of print, was published on behalf of the General Court of the Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. A four-page introduction by Rhode Island historian Bradford Fuller Swan provides some historical background. The actual tract consists of eleven pages of text, produced here in an exact photographic facsimile of the original. The original title page, however, has not survived. The pamphlet was apparently originally printed in Boston. We have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
