Our hero Paul Barrington, with equal parts lust and wanderlust and seeing himself as a "latter day Marco Polo" armed not with a sword but with a comb and shears sets off on a hilarious odyssey to many of the most exotic, and some less exotic, ports-of-call around the world styling the rich and famous. Enjoy tales of a stowaway prostitute, a struggle with a 14' shark, tidal waves, a kidnapping attempt and bereaved widows who are oh, so willing... and an offshore encounter with Maori natives... embarrassing moments in a Japanese bath house when it wasn't just Paul's temperature that was rising. Paul eventually breaks the cardinal rule and falls in love with a lovely fellow crew member, Joanna Carroll, which leads to severe complications as they conduct a torrid clandestine affair.
